Actually, Turtle’s journey began with an idea to create a “museletter”, which was a thoughtful magazine/newsletter that would be published every other month and would open up a reader’s world to new stories, new writers, and new experiences. Turtle Trails and Tales has evolved into an e-magazine that provides a unique “home” for writers and illustrators to showcase their work. Here is a look at who we are and the exciting publishing paradise we have become—a place where your dreams, writers and illustrators, can come true. A happy place. A hope-filled place. A place where your dream-journey begins. Meet the Turtle Trails and Tales Team: To date, Alan Teelander, co-publisher, entrepreneur, and business coach, is the web guru and facilitator of Turtle Trails and Tales. Alan overseas operations and management. Virginia Castleman, co-publisher, author, inventor, and editor handles the screening and editing of manuscripts, in addition to tutorials and coaching. Richard Cheng, who just completed an anthology of Chinese stories, handles the international marketing of Turtle Trails and Tales in China, the Philippines, and Taiwan. And of course You, the authors and illustrators, who send us your stories, poems, puzzles, mazes, recipes, articles, and art. Our Promise Turtle Trails and Tales is a haven for dream seekers. We promise to help give your dreams wings, and will do our part to make your dream of being discovered by a publisher or being a published author or illustrator a reality. Our Mission You are our mission. At Turtle Trails and Tales, we offer you a place to submit a blend of articles, personal- experience stories, multicultural stories, recipes, puzzles, and games for kids from one to 100. Yes. You read that right. 100. For while our target age is 6-12, at Turtle Trails and Tales we recognize that we are all kids at heart and have stories to tell. What we ask is that you submit only wholesome stories that promote growth, acceptance, sensitivity to others and other cultures, and that your stories and articles help kids develop critical thinking skills, and ultimately help readers grow emotionally. We believe that stories with strong characters and positive messages help kids develop stronger self esteems. But, our mission is two-fold. We also want to help you, the dreamer, the writer, the illustrator, the creative one find a place where your voice and visions can be heard and seen. We invite publishers to view your work and to contact us if they see promise and merit in your writing, and to connect you with the right publishers who will value your work. It’s a big mission, a big dream, but the fact is, we are here for you.Submission Guidelines Turtle Trails and Tales offers a unique way to submit your work. If you are strictly sending text with no illustrations, log on to www.publisher-match.com and register your name. You’ll be directed to a link for submissions and can email your stories and articles, puzzles, mazes, and games, and other ideas to that link. Be sure to include an email address where you can be contacted. If you are submitting illustrations only, with no text, follow the same procedure above. Now, here’s the fun part. If you would like to send your story with illustrations, either yours alone or with an illustrator you’ve contracted to work with, log on to www.publisher-match.com as described above, register, then click onto submissions and submit a pdf file with text AND illustrations from that link. Once we have approved your “page/s” or your submission/s, we will notify you and include them in Turtle Trails and Tales. Be sure to include your email address and a mailing address. You will be notified of publication via email.Payment We realize everyone wants to be paid zillions for their work and we make every effort to share your work with appropriate publishers so that you might find a lucrative home with them. Until then, payment rates for publication in Turtle Trails and Tales will vary. We strongly encourage every writer and illustrator to copyright your work.
